The Training Staff at Hollis Cobb Associates organized a special event to celebrate the diverse backgrounds and cultures of the employees.  The October 13 event included a dessert contest in which employees who wished to enter prepared a homemade dessert from their country of origin.  Some of the employees also dressed in native costumes.

“We wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate the many countries and cultures represented here at Hollis Cobb,” said Vilma Zeledon, the event’s main organizer. All employees took time out of their work day to sample the desserts, and several of the managers served as dessert judges including COO, Floyd Lawson, attorney, Brent Stamps; Human Resources Director, Mitzi Burke; Marketing Director, Chris Cobb and Wendy Kukla, Director of Training and Quality Assurance.

Third place went to Ingrid Seneadza, paralegal from Bolivia who prepared an Upside Down Cheesecake. Second place was awarded to Vilma Zeledon, Training Specialist from Nicaragua who prepared a Tres Leche dessert and also dressed in the native costume of her home country. First place went to Tamika Nash, who is from Ohio and wore an African American costume. She is a Key Client Executive in the Client Services Department, and her Triple Caramel Cheesecake was the favorite among judges and employees alike.

The celebration was a great success and will become a regular event each Fall at Hollis Cobb.
