Back to school supplies are often an extra expense for parents, and the Patient Financial Services Outreach Team at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi made school supplies for children a priority this year. Always looking for worthy charity projects, the team mobilized in August to collect school supplies to be distributed to needy, underprivileged and foster children in the community that Forrest General serves.
As a business partner with Forrest General, Hollis Cobb was pleased to contribute to this project that raised donations to support school children in the Hattiesburg and Jones County Public School Districts as well as the Southern Christian Services and the Petal Children’s Task Force. In addition, the PFS and Registration Outreach Teams at Forrest General provided water bottles to the homeless in their area through the Fieldhouse for the Homeless project.
The charity projects are organized by Forrest General Patient Accounts Manager, Matt McHan, who noted that the school supply drive was a great benefit to the community. “We have been truly overwhelmed by the giving spirit of our Revenue Cycle Team and our business partners,” Matt said. From packs of pencils and paper to tissues and hand sanitizer, needy children now have supplies to start off the school year with confidence. The leadership at Hollis Cobb is always happy to help our clients better support the patients they serve by becoming involved in projects that are important in their communities.
