Michelle Burks, better known as Mitzi, joined the Hollis Cobb Team last month as the Director of Human Resources. Mitzi brings over 20 years’ experience in the human resources world having worked in several different industries and having worn a variety of hats throughout the last two decades.
Along with interviewing and hiring new employees, both internally and to serve onsite at client offices, Mitzi also assists employees with their benefits packages, scheduling paid time off and navigating the employee web portal. Her enthusiasm and energy are infectious, and she has settled in quickly among the team at the corporate office in Duluth. Her past experience, along with human resources, includes operations, payroll, mergers and acquisitions and opening new facilities. 
Mitzi said she was attracted to Hollis Cobb Associates due to the longevity of the company, which this month is celebrating 40 years’ in the healthcare revenue cycle management industry. The fact that it is a private, family-owned company was another aspect that she found attractive. “Everyone from the top down seems to have a vested interest in the company, and I think that Hollis Cobb provides a great work atmosphere for all associates,” Mitzi said, adding that she enjoys the fast-paced work environment and the interesting people she has met so far.
A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Mitzi is an avid Wildcat fan. She also earned her MBA from Kaplan University. Mitzi grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, and travels back from time to time to visit family and attend Wildcat games. Since 2004, she has called Atlanta home and currently lives in town enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city.
As Hollis Cobb continues to grow and expand services to clients, Mitzi’s talent and experience will be a tremendous asset to the company.
